This is an unofficial logo redesign of a popular educational program designed to help teach kids how to program games through simplified means called Scratch.

The original logo features the iconic Scratch Cat, a design used in many of the pre-made tutorials and company branding. Having used this program myself when I was younger, I have a fond attachment towards the cat and had a desire to make it the forefront of the logo (in a much more simplified and “icon”-like design).

My one regret with this logo was the poor implementation of the brand name into the logo. I had considered placing the brand name within the Scratch Cat’s mouth, but I felt it made the design too busy. Perhaps in the future I’ll take another crack at it! (The old logo is on the left, the new logo is on the right.)
